Seminars
Mandatory Sexual Harassment Training!
All employers with at least 50 employees, contractors, or agents
are required by law to provide all
supervisors with at least two hours of sexual harassment training,
and to repeat that training every two years.
This mandatory training is a minimum.
Other laws, including EEOC guidelines, indicate that "periodic"
training on workplace harassment is necessary. Employers
wishing to reduce their risk of liability for harassment should
consider providing annual harassment prevention training.
Employers with fewer than 50 employees, may be able to limit
damages for sexual harassment under the "avoidable consequences"
doctrine where the employer has taken reasonable steps to prevent and correct
workplace harassment. Sexual Harassment training is just one
"reasonable step" employers must take to minimize liability.
