Mandatory Sexual Harassment Training!

All employers with at least 50 employees, contractors, or agents are required by law to provide all supervisors with at least two hours of sexual harassment training, and to repeat that training every two years.

This mandatory training is a minimum.  Other laws, including EEOC guidelines, indicate that "periodic" training on workplace harassment is necessary.  Employers wishing to reduce their risk of liability for harassment should consider providing annual harassment prevention training.

Employers with fewer than 50 employees,  may be able to limit damages for sexual harassment under the "avoidable consequences" doctrine where the employer has taken reasonable steps to prevent and correct workplace harassment.  Sexual Harassment training is just one "reasonable step" employers must take to minimize liability.

Sexual Harassment:  Prohibition, Prevention, Correction

This seminar meets each of the following requirements of Government Code section 12950.1:

    regarding federal and state statutory provisions
    concerning the prohibition against, and prevention
    and correction of, sexual harassment
    and the remedies available to victims

  • Includes practical examples aimed at instructing
    supervisors in the prevention of harassment,
    discrimination, and retaliation

  • Presented by trainer with knowledge and expertise
    in the prevention of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation
