Pregnancy Leaves of Absence and Discrimination

Discrimination on the basis of pregnancy is illegal under federal and state laws.  Pregnancy discrimination is a form of sex discrimination and thus is prohibited by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as Amended, and California's Fair Employment and Housing Act, among others.
