Alexandra M. Steinberg, Esq.
Alexandra M. Steinberg, Esq. has extensive experience in employment law, in both litigation and counseling. She has represented both management and employees, in individual and class action suits, administrative proceedings, pre-litigation negotiations, contract review, and counseling. Recently she has published and/or edited several articles, including articles in The Daily Journal and Advocate. In 2006, she obtained a published opinion in her favor as appellate counsel in Zavala v. Scott Brothers Dairy, Inc., 143 Cal.App.4th 585 (2006). Zavala makes it clear that employees can still sue in court for violation of certain minimum statutory labor standards even when their labor unions have arbitrated those claims.
Alexandra has been named as a Rising Start in 2010 by Super Lawyers magazine. She is the 2010-2011 Chair of the Beverly Hills Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section. She has also been an adjunct professor of law at U.S.C. Law School, teaching California Civil Procedure to second and third year law students.
Prior to opening her own firm, Alexandra was a senior associate at Kesluk & Silverstein, a notable employment law firm in the Beverly Hills area, and before that was an associate at O'Donnell & Kramer, a boutique employment law firm in downtown Los Angeles. She was a law clerk for two years at Schonbrun, DeSimone, Seplow, Harris & Hoffman, a Research Assistant for Professor Elyn Saks of U.S.C. Law School, and a law clerk for the Honorable William M. Monroe, Judge of the Orange County Superior Court. Further, she worked with large national law firms on complex litigation and high-tech antitrust cases.
In addition to her legal knowledge and experience, Alexandra has over ten years of business experience. During that time she worked for several years for an international telecommunications corporation as a Human Resources Representative, handling employee relations issues, compliance with employment laws, employee benefits, training, and recruiting.
Alexandra has been heavily involved in leadership and community service, holding local and national positions and raising thousands of dollars for charitable causes.
When she's not in pursuit of justice, Alexandra can be found spending time with her family and friends, cycling at the beach, and enjoying all that Los Angeles has to offer.
